Stacy Walters is a Registered Kinesiotherapist, Master Gardener, and budding freelance writer with a passion for green living. The development of Stacy’s brainchild, Fit to Garden™ , is the result of the fun-loving blend of her enthusiasm for her profession and love affair with nature. Stacy thrives on learning new skills, researching the unknown, meeting new people, and experiencing breath-taking adventure…she defines the journey as “The Good Life”.
A passionate ornamental gardener and novice vegetable gardener, Stacy has begun encouraging others to follow along as she captures all of the marvels that organic vegetable gardening has to offer. The act of gardening truly is a comprehensive wellness program; the dynamic physical activity, creative expression, emotional reward, enhanced connection with nature, sense of environmental stewardship, nutritional awareness, and the satisfaction of cooking and baking with the organic fruits of your own labor!
Stacy’s quest for knowledge in human performance and green living led her to obtain the following certifications: CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach, Powerhouse Pilates mat, prenatal, golf, reformer and equipment personal training; AFAA personal training; AFAA group exercise; Johnny G Mad Dogg Spinning; Arthritis Leadership and Effective Supervisory Management. She is also trained in Senior Fitness and Breast Cancer Recovery Exercise Programming. Her career in the health and fitness industry includes experience as a Fitness Director, Athletic Director, and Club Manager. She currently oversees several corporate health and fitness sites in the northern region as a Manager of Site Operations. Stacy developed Fit for Recreation, LLC as a side project and has met many fabulous people along the way. She recently became a “GREEN GIRL GURU” and contributing editor on thegreengirls.tv and is having a blast!
Stacy’s professional background and unique cocktail of certifications reflect her dynamic interests. The amazing journey ultimatley led her to “the ONE” who now assists her with the mayhem. When she is not in the garden or working out, Stacy enjoys mountain biking, wakeboarding, skiing, snowboarding, golfing, organic cooking and baking, community presentations, volunteering, traveling, crafting, decorating, and all forms of music…she is learning to play the guitar.
